St Andrew Street

The hill in St. Andrews St. was cut between the buildings in Redwell St. and St. Andrews so the Trams could get through, the previous way was up Princes street and into Redwell St., they couldn’t get round the corner.
The bottom right picture is before the BT Telephone exchange was built, but you can see the original Harmers factory down the road on the right.
To the best of my knowledge, the third picture is before the beginning of the hill as we know it.
St. Andrews Street is part of an old Roman Road which goes through Norwich from Brundell, via Bishops Bridge, the Cathedral grounds, Princes St, then via Charing Cross where the was a crossroads, along Dereham Rd, through to Bawburgh, via Chapel Break where there was another cross roads
